Sea Scouts BSA

Sea Scouts BSA is a co-education program offered by Boy Scouts of America to young adults between the ages of 14 and 21. Each troop, called a “ship”, is organized to promote better citizenship and to improve members’ boating skills and knowledge through instruction and practice in water safety, boating skills, outdoor, social and service experiences, and knowledge of our maritime heritage.

Phoenix Venture Philanthropy Foundation lent its expertise to help charter Sea Scout Ship 912 and donated a 2007 Catalina 25, christened the s.s.v. Knot kNORMal, for their use. Eckerd College’s Waterfront Program holds the charter for Ship 912 and the Knot kNORMal is berthed at Eckerd’s marina. The Eckerd College Search and Rescue also holds special training sessions with Ship 912.
